She is super skilled at circus hoop performance as well as a beautiful hoop dancer. She has travelled with ‘Clowns without Borders’ to migrant camps in Jordan to teach children who have fled war zones to bring some joy to innocents stuck in a this ages most dark places.
Sharon O’Brien (The Fairy Hooper)
The Fairy Hooper
The Fairy Hooper first fell in love with hula hoops in 2011/2012 and since then she has been training, teaching and performing with hula hoops and fire hoops since 2012. Her first live performance was after 4 months at the open stage at Manchester Hoop Congress. Previously she has taught classes in the circus factory in Cork, elements in Galway, Dublin Community Circus and workshops at the Tralee National Circus Festival and UCC 21 birthday Juggling Convention.
Workshop: New Tricks and Tricks Re-imagined
We will have some really cool new tricks and focus on developing flow and also the resistance to flow so changing things up, exploring a new path in current tricks and different variations. Creating new wonders with current skills.
Gale Funra (Ra Ra Ra)
Gale Funra Francis is double hoop Queen Supreme. All of her moves are pure Gale Francis and she brings a fresh and funky approach to double hooping. Her style is all her own and you are guaranteed to approach hooping with a different mind set after taking her class. Her double isolation moves are simply divine and will help expand your brain power as she walks you through getting your body to move with a different intent.
Catherine Simpson (Ass-Shaking Maniac)
Catherine has been teaching hoop for over 10years and zumba for 7yrs. This girl likes to shake her ass. A lot. Like, really. If anyone can get you to want to shake your bits while you’re hooping, it’s her!
Workshop: Shake Ya Bits. Hula Hoop helps with the practice of body isolations and shaking ya bits, body isolations help ya hoop better and then putting the two together is delish-ass!
- Gwyneth Doherty (Fantastic Elastic)
Gwyneth Doherty is made of elastic and rainbows. She will be leading us in bending and twisting and stretching techniques that will leave us as pliable as putty and really ready to get our hoop on : )
- Catherine Jameson (Power Ballad Queen)
Catherine Jameson has been attending the Irish Hoop Convention for years and has become our Power Ballad Queen. She might pump out power ballads, she might lead us into a graceful meditative dance state, it’s always a wonderful surprise workshop from Catherine. She may be from the UK but she is also an Irish hooper and we can’t wait to welcome her back to her home away from home.
- Angie Kinsella (Hug Monster) – Unfortunately Angie can no longer make it! However she will be making an appearance next year. And I know she’ll be sending us lovely vibes this weekend.
